3D AI Studio Alternatives: What It Offers and What to Pick Instead
3D AI Studio puts many AI 3D models behind one account and one credit balance. That is handy for testing, but it is not the best fit for every job. This guide explains what 3D AI Studio offers and costs, from its own pages, and which alternative to pick for each kind of work.

Short answer
3D AI Studio runs other companies' 3D models, such as Meshy, Tripo, Rodin, Hunyuan and TRELLIS, from one credit balance, starting at $19 a month. Pick an alternative by job: Meshy for human characters with many ready moves, Tripo for rigging unusual creatures, Hyper3D Rodin for clean shapes you rig yourself, Bake3D for any body moved by words you type, and TRELLIS.2 for free on your own GPU.
How we checked this: We read 3D AI Studio's pricing page, docs, rigging tool page and API terms on 8 October 2026, plus the pricing pages and docs of each alternative, and link them under Sources. We opened the pricing pages in a browser to read the monthly and yearly cards. Tripo's pricing page blocked our browser that day, so its plan prices are from 26 September 2026. We did not run the same picture through every tool, so this compares features and prices, not model quality.
What 3D AI Studio is
3D AI Studio (3daistudio.com) is a browser app for making 3D models with AI. Its API terms say it is run from Germany under the trading name Hammer Creations. Its big idea is choice. Instead of one AI model, it gives you many, from different companies, paid from one credit balance.
On 8 October 2026 its docs listed 12 models that work from one picture and 8 that take several. Some come from other companies, such as Meshy 6, Rodin 2.5, Hunyuan 3.1 Pro, Tripo P1 and TRELLIS 2. Prism 3.1 is the default. Each model costs a different number of credits:
| Model, one picture | Credits | Time, per its docs |
|---|---|---|
| TRELLIS 2 | 15 to 41 | 4 to 8 minutes |
| Prism Turbo | 25 | Under 90 seconds |
| Prism 3.0, Rodin 2.5, Seed3D 1.0 | 30 | 2 to 12 minutes |
| Prism 3.1 (default), Forge Gen-2, CSM | 35 | 3 to 7 minutes |
| Hunyuan 3.1 Pro, Hunyuan 3.0, Meshy 6 | 40 | 3 to 10 minutes |
| Tripo P1 Game Ready | 60 | 60 to 90 seconds |
It also has an image studio for pictures and short videos. Other tools paint textures, rebuild the mesh, split a model into parts and unwrap UVs. It can rig characters and add 12 preset animations. It exports GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ, BLEND, 3MF, Collada and PLY. Some tools, such as SVG to 3D and 3D text, run free in the browser.
If your goal is a model that moves, read the rigging details below before you pick. And if you are new to the steps, our guide on turning a 2D image into a 3D model explains how these tools work.
3D AI Studio pricing
These are the prices on its pricing page on 8 October 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Credits a month | Billed yearly | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19 | 1,000 | $12 a month ($144 a year) | Up to 100 assets, text and image to 3D |
| Studio | $29 | 3,500 | $23 a month ($276 a year) | All tools, several-picture input, unlimited downloads |
| Pro | $149 | 18,000 | $139 a month ($1,668 a year) | 3 team seats, top priority |
It also sells one-time packs: 2,000 credits for $34, 5,000 for $69 and 35,000 for $399. Pack credits never expire. Monthly plan credits do not roll over.
Other rules worth knowing:
- Free credits. New accounts get free credits with no card. The docs do not give the number.
- Refunds. Plans show a 7-day money-back guarantee. Failed generations are refunded in credits automatically.
- Ownership. The pricing page says you own what you make and may use it commercially on every plan. Its API terms add that some features run on other companies’ services, which may carry their own limits.
- API. The API uses prepaid credits. Its terms say it is for businesses only, files are kept for 24 hours, and API credits are not refundable. Its API docs cover generation, texturing, remeshing, splitting and mesh tools. We did not find rigging there.
On the Studio plan, a credit costs about 0.83 cents if you use all 3,500. So a Prism 3.1 model (35 credits), a rig (20) and two animations (15 each) come to 85 credits, about 70 cents.
Why look for a 3D AI Studio alternative
3D AI Studio is good at letting you compare models. Its own docs also show where another tool may fit better:
- Animation is light. It has 12 presets, at 15 credits each, and no motion from text.
- Rigging depends on the option you pick. The Meshy option rigs humanoids only. The Prism option covers more. Its docs list two legs, four legs, birds and snakes, and its tool page adds six legs, eight legs and sea creatures.
- No rigging in the API docs. We did not find a rigging endpoint there.
- Import guides, not plug-ins. Its Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya and ZBrush pages explain how to import files by hand.
- The newest features start at the source. If you settle on one model, its maker may add new options there first, such as Meshy’s 600+ animations or Tripo’s newest rig types.
Going through 3D AI Studio is not always the dearer choice. A Meshy 6 model costs 40 credits there, about 33 cents on its Studio plan. On Meshy’s own Pro plan, a textured model is 30 credits, about 60 cents. Which is cheaper depends on your plan and how many credits you use.
The alternatives, by job
Meshy: human characters with many ready moves
Meshy makes its own models and, by its own count, has the biggest library of ready animations for people of the tools here. It rigs humanoids and four-legged animals, plus other creatures in beta, and has more than 600 ready animations. It also has plug-ins for Blender, Unity, Unreal and Godot, an API and an MCP server.
Pro is $20 a month for 1,000 credits, and a textured model costs about 30. Its help center says four-legged animals only get a walk, and free users cannot download Meshy 6 or 7 models. Our Meshy AI review covers it in full, and the Meshy pricing guide works out the cost per model.
Pick Meshy when your characters are people and a big library of ready moves saves you time.
Tripo: rigging unusual creatures
Tripo makes its own models and has one of the widest lists of rig types. Its developer docs list two riggers. The older one is for people and supports more than 90 animations. The newer one, from February 2026, handles four legs, six legs, eight legs, birds, snakes and sea creatures. It can rig models you upload as GLB, FBX, OBJ or STL, up to 150 MB.
Its API costs 1 cent a credit. A textured model from one picture is 30 credits, a rig 25 and each animation 10. Its pricing page blocked our browser on 8 October 2026. On 26 September it listed Pro at $20 a month for 3,000 credits, and a free plan with 200 credits for non-commercial use.
Pick Tripo when you have an unusual creature to rig and need only a few clips for it.
Hyper3D Rodin: a clean shape you will rig yourself
Rodin focuses on the model itself. Its animation page sells meshes that are ready for you to rig, not rigged ones. You rig and animate in Blender, Maya or another tool.
The free plan lets you pay only for results you keep, at $1.50 a credit. Creator is $30 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for about 60 models. Business is $120 a month, or $96 billed yearly, and adds full API access. Our guide on how to rig in Blender covers the next step.
Pick Rodin when the shape matters most and you already rig by hand.
Bake3D: any body, moved by words you type
Bake3D is our own tool, so read this part with that in mind. It makes a textured model from one to four pictures or a text prompt, then plans the skeleton from the model’s real shape. Four legs, wings, tails and wheels each get their own joints. You can describe a motion in a sentence for 10 credits. Or use one of seventeen free presets, such as a walk, trot, run and jump fitted to the legs. The AI 3D animation generator page shows how it works.
A rigged model from one picture is 65 credits at Standard quality. Packs start at $5 for 80 credits, and Pro is $29 a month for 750 credits. Bake3D has no free credits, but you can play with rigged characters in the free demo and get a free readiness check of your own picture. Models made with bought credits come with a commercial license.
Its limits: Bake3D does not rig a model you upload, does not animate faces, and has 17 presets, not hundreds. It costs more per model than the other paid tools here.
Pick Bake3D when an animal, a creature or a machine needs to move in ways you choose.
TRELLIS.2 and Hunyuan3D 2.1: free on your own GPU
If you have a strong graphics card, you can run an open model at no cost.
- TRELLIS.2 from Microsoft is free under the MIT license. It turns one picture into a textured model, and needs an NVIDIA GPU with at least 24 GB of memory.
- Hunyuan3D 2.1 from Tencent makes and paints a model too. Read its license first. It does not apply in the EU, the UK or South Korea, and services with more than 1 million monthly users need a separate license.
Neither one rigs or animates, and you set them up yourself. 3D AI Studio also runs TRELLIS 2 and Hunyuan models for you, if you would rather not.
Pick an open model when cost matters most and you are happy to work in code.
Pick by job
| Your job | Pick | Why | Starts at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test many AI models on one picture | 3D AI Studio | 12 one-picture models, one balance | $19 a month |
| Human characters with lots of moves | Meshy | 600+ presets, plug-ins, text to motion | $20 a month |
| Rig a creature model you already have | Tripo | People plus six creature types, from uploads | 25 API credits ($0.25) a rig |
| A clean shape for your own rig | Hyper3D Rodin | Shape and texture focus, no rig | $24 a month, billed yearly |
| An animal, creature or machine that must move | Bake3D | Rig from the shape, motion from text | $5 for 80 credits |
| Zero cost on your own hardware | TRELLIS.2 | MIT license | Free |
Compare the cost of a finished model, not credits
A credit is worth a different amount of money at each company, so comparing credit counts tells you little. Compare what a finished model costs instead.
Here is one job on four tools: a character from one picture, rigged, with a walk and a run. It assumes you use every credit in the month.
| Tool and plan | Credits | About | How it adds up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meshy, Pro ($20 for 1,000) | 30 | $0.60 | Model 30, rig and clips free |
| 3D AI Studio, Studio ($29 for 3,500) | 85 | $0.70 | Prism 3.1 35, rig 20, two clips 30 |
| Tripo, API (1 cent a credit) | 75 | $0.75 | Model 30, rig 25, two clips 20 |
| Bake3D, Pro ($29 for 750) | 65 | $2.51 | Model 40, rig 25, walk and run free |
On a humanoid, 3D AI Studio’s Meshy rig option (15 credits, walk and run included) brings its total to 50 credits, about 41 cents. Bake3D is the dearest of the four on this job. The jobs also differ by body: Meshy’s animal rig only walks, Tripo lists few clips per creature, and Bake3D fits the walk and run to any number of legs. For a still model with no rig, any of the other tools costs less. The full Bake3D price list has every option.
How we compared these tools
On 8 October 2026 we read 3D AI Studio’s pricing page, docs, rigging tool page and API terms, and the pricing pages and docs of Meshy, Tripo and Hyper3D. We opened the pricing pages in a browser to read the monthly and yearly cards in US dollars. Tripo’s pricing page blocked our browser that day, so its plan prices come from our check on 26 September 2026, while its API prices are from 8 October.
We did not run the same picture through every tool, so this compares features and prices, not model quality. Prices change often, so check each linked page before you buy. For a wider view, read our pick of the best AI 3D model generators.
Questions people ask
Is 3D AI Studio free?
You get some free credits when you sign up, with no card needed, but its docs do not say how many. They say it is enough for several models. After that, plans start at $19 a month for 1,000 credits, and a one-time pack of 2,000 credits costs $34. Its free in-browser tools, such as SVG to 3D and 3D text, need no credits.
Which AI models does 3D AI Studio use?
Its docs listed 12 single-picture models on 8 October 2026, including Prism 3.1, Hunyuan 3.1 Pro, Tripo P1, Meshy 6, TRELLIS 2, Rodin 2.5, CSM and Seed3D. Each costs a different number of credits, from 15 to 60. Paid plans add 8 models that take several pictures.
Can 3D AI Studio rig and animate a model?
Yes. Rigging costs 15 or 20 credits. The Meshy option rigs humanoids only and includes a walk and a run. The Prism option covers more body types, such as four legs, birds and snakes. After rigging you can add any of 12 preset animations for 15 credits each. There is no motion from text.
Can I use 3D AI Studio models commercially?
Its pricing page says you own what you make and can use it for business on every plan. Its API terms add that some features run on other companies' services and may carry their own limits, such as credit or resale rules. Check the notes on the model you pick if you plan to sell.
Does Bake3D rig a 3D model I already have?
No. Bake3D makes a new model from your picture or text, then rigs it in the same job. If you already have a finished model, a tool that rigs uploaded files, such as Tripo, Meshy or 3D AI Studio, is the better fit.
