How long does a bake take?

By the Bake3D teamLast checked:

Short answer

About 8 minutes from picture to finished rig for a typical character. A described motion is usually ready in about 35 seconds. These are the middle values of real bakes on Bake3D from 24 September to 8 October 2026.

In more detail

We measured 239 bakes. Half of them took between 5 and 11 minutes from picture to rig. We also measured 121 described motions. A long or tricky motion can take a minute or two, because the engine checks that arms and legs do not pass through the body.

A bake has several steps. Bake3D reads your picture, builds the textured model, plans the skeleton, sets up the skin and makes a first short motion. The studio shows each step as it runs.

You do not have to watch. The bake keeps running if you close the tab, and the finished character waits in your library. We also send you an email when it is done.

Times change with the picture, the quality you pick and how busy the service is. Ready motions, like a walk, are fitted in your browser and take seconds. Downloads are made on the spot.

These numbers come from our own production records. We will update this page when we measure again.
