Short answer
Bake3D is free to try, but not free for making your own characters. The demo, a check of your own picture and the browser tools are free. Your own character starts at $5 with the Single pack.

What is free:
- The demo. Play 4 rigged characters in your browser, with no account.
- Direct it. With a free account, type a motion for a demo character and the engine writes it for that body, 3 times a day.
- The readiness check. Upload your own picture. Bake3D tells you what it will build, which parts will move and the exact price, 3 times a day.
- The tools. Converters, viewers and STL tools run in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.
- The free models. 4 rigged, animated characters to download and use under CC BY 4.0.
What costs credits: building your own model, rigging it and motions you describe for your own characters. Once you have a character, ready motions like a walk and every download are free.
New accounts do not get free credits. Instead, your first pack comes with 25% extra credits if you buy it within 72 hours of signing up. And if you are not happy with your first character, the first-character guarantee refunds that first pack in full.
